‘I never thought that I would attend a conference on issues of old age and dementia, and come away feeling so full of joy.’
‘We’d been thinking about a care home for Mum, but after I shared with my family what I’d learnt at your seminar, we were able to keep her at home. That was five years ago.’
‘So encouraging! We will take back to our church what we’ve heard and put some of the ideas into place.’
These are just a few of the comments made by participants at our conferences. A couple of opportunities are coming up in the next few weeks:
28th February, at Holy Trinity Church, Eastbourne, an Update on Dementia conference, looking at practical and spiritual issues
7th March, at St John’s Harborne, Birmingham, a Day on Issues of Old Age, including Dementia,
16th March, a training day with pastoral team workers in Nottingham, on Brain and Soul Boosting for Seniors. This programme has been restarted with a new group of participants, with outstanding success. When, during a session, a health worker called with a minor procedure for one of the participants, instead of going back to her flat with the worker she insisted that it be done quickly, in the corridor outside the group’s room. She didn’t want to miss anything!
